The six-round Ucal Rolon National Road Racing Championship 2007 for two-wheelers will begin at Coimbatore on April 28, a top official of the Federation of Motor Sports Club of India said today.
Speaking to reporters here, Rajat Majumdar, president, FMSCI, said more than 100 riders will be seen in action in the event, which has two new groups added this time, the above 110cc to 160cc 4-stroke and above 160cc to 250cc classes, both in the open categories. These will provide more action and further speeds, he said.
Further, in the fray are team TVS, Yamaha factory and team Libra racing, among others.
The first three rounds will be held at Kari Motor Speedway Track at Chettipalayam in Coimbatore while the other three will be held at madras motorsports trust race track at Irunkattukottai, near Chennai. The races will be held between April and November 2007, he said.
The overall championship winner will take home a prize money of Rs 50,000 and a trophy. Further, there will be trophies for best team and tuners.
