Coimbatore-based garment exporter and retailer, S P Apparels Limited on Tuesday announced it acquired women's western wear brand 'Natalia' for an undisclosed amount.
"This acquisition of Natalia will help SPA to aggressively tap the immense potential in the women's wear market in India," the Managing Director, Mr P Sundarajan said.
Women's western wear formals and casuals are growing at a fast pace and offer a lucrative market.
However, very few well-known brands are available in the domestic retail market. Natalia targets women in the 20-35 age group, he said.
The Natalia brand range of formal and semi formal styles includes skirts, trousers, jackets, capris, blouses, camisoles, dresses and T-shirts.
Replying to questions on the firm's future plans, he said it included aggressive marketing and opening of retail outlets in September at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Indore, Hyderabad, Kochi and Kolkata.
He said the firm had made a successful foray into men's wear retail sector recently after its takeover of the Crocodile brand.
