Connect Coimbatore-2007 from February 27

The seventh edition of 'Connect Coimbatore-2007,' here on February 27 would showcase emerging business opportunities in the hardware sector, apart from deliberating on growth potential of the IT and ITES sectors and strategies to attract investments.

The theme of 'Connect Coimbatore' the reincarnated version of the annual 'CoimbatoreIT.Com, would be 'Creating Entrepreneurs for Sustaining the IT Growth in emerging IT Centres,' Jayakumar Ramdass, Chairman, CII Coimbatore Zone, told reporters here today.

The conference would focus on sessions like 'Building a global IT services company-- experience sharing, the platform for IT growth-education and infrastructure, Emerging Business opportunities in hardware sector and creating entrepreneurs fo sustaining the growth of IT in Coimbtore, he said.

As Chennai emerging as the hardware capital of India, with leading companies like Motorola, Alcatel, Flextronics having established their operations, there was huge potential for the manufacturing sector in Coimbatore to tap the business opportunity offered by this sector, Jayakumar said.

Dr C Chandramouli, Secretary, IT Dept, Tamil Nadu, R Rajalakshmi, Director, STPI, C Uma Shankar, Managing Director, ELCOT would address the conference, in which around 100 experts are expected to participate.

The CII, STPI and ELCOT are jointly organising the event.
