Sainik school entry test

The All India Entrance Examination for admission to VI and IX standards of Sainik School, Amaravathinagar for the academic year 2007-08 will be held on January 7.

A release from Alokesh Sen, Principal, said that only boys between 10 and 11 years as on July 01, 2007 would be eligible for admission to the sixth standard. Similarly, boys between 13 and 14 years as on July 1, 2007 and studying in VIII standard in a recognised school would be eligible for admission to ninth standard.

For prospectus and application forms, remit Rs 325 for General/Defence categories and Rs 225 for SC/ST categories, inclusive of registration fee and cost of old question paper.

Demand draft should be drawn on State Bank of India, Amaravathi Nagar (Branch Code 2191) in favour of "Principal, Sainik School, Amaravathi Nagar" along with a self-addressed and stamped (Rs 19 for unregistered parcel) envelope (25 cm x 20 cm), indicating standard to which admission was being sought (VI or IX) and category (Defence/General or SC/ST).

Candidates could also visit www.sainikschoolamaravathinagar.edu.in for the application form. Medium of examination should also be indicated for VI standard. Last date for issue of prospectus/application and receipt of completed application was December 10, 2006.
