Paramount to operate more services

With the arrival of the fourth Embraer jet with dual seating configuration, the coimbatore-based Paramount Airways will increase its operations out of the Kamaraj domestic terminal to 36 daily services from 28."The enhancement of services will be from October 20 coinciding with Deepavali. The new aircraft offers 11 first-class and 64 business-class seats," M. Thiagarajan, Managing Director, Paramount Airways, told The Hindu on Tuesday.

The new services would include an early morning Chennai-Kochi flight and two flights between Chennai and Coimbatore — one will depart at 10.50 a.m. and the other at midday. The timings of the evening connection to Coimbatore would be altered to suit the convenience of passengers.

At a meeting with Minister of State for Civil Aviation Praful Patel in Delhi recently, Mr. Thiagarajan said the promoters of approved private carriers met in Delhi and agreed to form an association.
