Amaron ropes in Karthikeyan for racing academy


Leading battery maker Amara Raja Batteries has roped in Formula One driver Narain Karthikeyan for setting up a racing academy in Tamil Nadu.

Named Amaron-NK Racing Academy, it aims to identify, nurture and promote young talent and groom future fast track racing drivers for India, the promoters said here Monday.

A part of the Amaron Pro Racing initiative, this academy will leverage existing racing infrastructure in the country. Amaron is a leading brand of Amara Raja Batteries. The academy will be an independent institution.

As one of the first few initiatives of the academy, racing workshops will be conducted at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore.
