New B-School at Pollachi, Coimbatore

Pollachi-based N G M College Kalvi Kazhagam will soon open a new Technical Institution from the 2010-2011 academic year.

Promoted by industrialist cum philanthropist Mr N Mahalingam, and backed by Sakthi Group of companies, the Sakthi Institute of Information and Management Studies, would be a standalone B-School affiliated to Anna University, Coimbatore, institute sources said.

With AICTE approval, the institute would offer MBA, with specialisations in Human Resources, Marketing, Finance, Operations and Systems, they said.

The eco-friendly campus, on 30,000 sq.ft, has audio-visual classrooms with high tech teaching aids, an air-conditioned conference hall with video conferencing facilities, modern labs with High Speed Internet connectivity and modern digital library with t he latest collection of books and journals (including e-journals), they said.

The institute would enter into an MoU with leading Industries and multinationals for institute-industry interaction. Corporate training, industrial seminars and live projects are other features of the institute.

An exclusive HRD and placement cell was also being constituted to impart soft skill training and arranging campus interviews, they said.
