Summer Special Trains - Southern Railway

Southern Railway will run summer special trains in the Chennai Egmore-Nagercoil-Chennai Egmore, Chennai Central-Thiruvananthapuram-Chennai Central, Mangalore-Thir uvananthapuram-Mangalore and Coimbatore- Nagercoil- Coimbatore stretches from April 2 to June 29 to clear the rush.

The 0635 Chennai Central-Thiruvananthapuram-Weekly Superfast Special would depart every Friday from Chennai Central at 4 p.m. to reach Thiruvananthapuram central at 7 a.m. the next day. In the return direction, the 0636 Thiruvananthapuram-Chennai Central special train would depart from Thiruvananthapuram central every Sunday at 10.30 a.m. to reach Chennai Central at 4 a.m. the next day, according to the railways.

The special trains will have one AC 2-Tier, one AC 3-Tier, 10 Second Sleeper, three General Second Class and two luggage-cum-brake van coaches.

The trains will have stoppages at Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Palakkad, Ottapalam, Thrissur, Aluva, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Changanacherry, Tiruvalla, Chengannur, Maveilkara, Kayamkulam, Kollam and Varkala stations. The 0636 will also stop at Perambur also.

The service from Chennai Central would be April 6, 13, 20, 27; May 4, 11, 18 and 25; June 1, 8 and 15.

The services from Thiruvananthapuram central would be April 8, 15, 22 and 29, May 6, 13, 20, 27 and June 3, 10 and 17.

The 0611 Chennai Egmore-Nagercoil Weekly train will depart from Chennai Egmore every Friday at 11.15 p.m to reach Nagercoil the next day at 2.15 p.m.

In the return direction, the 0612 Nagercoil-Chennai Egmore weekly Special will depart from Nagercoil at 1.30 p.m. to reach Chennai Egmore the next day at 4.30 a.m.

Both the 0611/0612 special trains will have one AC 2-Tier, 2 AC 3-Tier, 9 Second Sleeper, 4 General Second Class and two luggage-cum-brake van coaches.

The service from Chennai Egmore will be on April 20, 27; May 4, 11, 18 and 25; June 1, 8, 15 and 22.

The service from Nagercoil side will be on April 22, 29; May 6, 13, 20 and 27; June 3, 10, 17 and 24.

The 0613 Chennai Egmore-Nagercoil Weekly Special will depart from Chennai Egmore every Monday at 7 p.m. to reach Nagercoil the next day at 8.15 a.m. The 0614 Nagercoil-Chennai Egmore will depart from Nagercoil at 1.30 p.m. to reach Chennai Egmore the next day at 4.30 a.m.

Both the 0613/0614 specials will have 2 AC-Tier, 2 AC 3-Tier, 10 Second Sleeper, 2 General Second Class and two luggage-cum-brake van coaches.

The services from Chennai Egmore will be on April 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30; May 7, 14, 21 and 28 and June 4, 11, 18 and 25.

According to the railways, the services from Nagercoil side will be on April 3, 10, 17, 24; May 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 and June 5, 12, 29 and 28.

The 0611, 0612, 0613 and 0614 specials will have stoppages at Tambaram, Chengalpattu, Tindivanam, Villupuram, Vriddhachalam, Tiruchchirappalli, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudanagar, Sattur, Kovilpatti, Vanchi Maniyachi and Tirunelveli.

The 0612 and 0614 specials will have stops at Mambalam also.

The 0607 Coimbatore-Nagercoil weekly special would depart from Coimbatore at 11.15 p.m every Tuesday to reach Nagercoil the next day at 11.15 a.m.

In the return direction, the 0608 Nagercoil-Coimbatore weekly special would depart from Nagercoil every Wednesday at 10 p.m. to reach Coimbatore the next day at 8.30 a.m.

The trains will have one AC 2-Tier, one AC 3-Tier, 10 Second Sleeper, 3 General Second Class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches.

The train will have stoppages at Tiruppur, Erode, Karur, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudanagar, Sattur, Kovilpatti, Vanchi Maniyachchi and Tirunelveli.

The days of service from Coimbatore will be on April 10, 17 and 24; May 1, 8, 15, 22, 29; June 5, 12, 19 and 26.

The days of service from Nagercoil will be on April 11, 18 and 25; May 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 and June 6, 13, 20 and 27. Advance reservation for all the summer special trains have commenced from March 18, the release said.
