Textile machinery exhibition, 'Texpo-2007,' under the aegis of Southern India Mills Association (SIMA) and Textile Machinery Manufacturers Association (TMMA) to showcase latest innovations and inventions in textile machinery, is scheduled to be held here from July 26 to 30, informed TMMA Vice-Chairman, Sridhar Varadaraj.
He said, 'Texpo-2007' would provide a common platform for textile machinery manufacturers and shop-floor technicians in selecting the proper machinery vis-à-vis latest developments and inventions in textile machinery for them to either upgrade their existing facilities or incorporate them in future expansion.
SIMA Chairman, S V Arumugam observed that the expo is timely, as, a whopping sum of $25 bn dollars investment in textile machinery i.e. spinning and garmenting sector during the next five years is being mulled over by textile entrepreneurs, especially of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
He also informed that during the 11th Five-Year Plan an investment of Rs1,94,000 crore is on the cards for textile industry as Confederation of Indian Textile Industry plans to increase its market share from the current $52 bn dollars in 2006 to $110 billion by 2012.
